Dr. Marc Dalton received his undergraduate and formal medical training at Wake Forest University; that was followed by the completion of a general psychiatry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and continued studies at the Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard University Medical School, including a a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He earned board certification in general and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition, Dr. Dalton holds a Masters of Public Health from The Bloomberg School of Public Health of The Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Dalton has more than 20 years of experience treatment patients. Including serving as the Chief Clinical Officer for the DC Department of Behavioral Health, serving as the first Medical Director of the DC Superior Court Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic, and establishing the first urgent care clinic for the INOVA Hospital Systems in Virginia. He has held academic positions at Children’s National Medical Center, Georgetown University Medical School, George Washington Medical School, Louisiana State University Medical School, and Harvard University Medical School.
Dr. Dalton is a sought after lecturer for mental health prevention and treatment in adults and children. He has been involved extensively in the training of the DC Metropolitan Police Department, managing the Crisis Intervention Officer mental health and de-escalation training for Washington DC.
He has published on topics of Bipolar Disorder treatment, trauma in children, and assessment of suicide in children in emergency room settings.
In his spare time, Dr. Dalton enjoys traveling, listening to music, playing board games, and growing roses. He also loves his grill and constantantly strives to prepare the perfect surf and turf combo.
